Hey, folks!
For the longest time, I’ve been seeing this “Photo Challenge” all over my WordPress feed, from some of my favorite travel bloggers. There are a lot of different types of “Photo Challenges” that are published, but its theme of doors always stood out to me. Simple in function, doors are beautiful works of art that vary in shape and design all over the world. It boggles my mind that I haven’t shared some of my favorites I’ve come across on my travels, so I’ve finally compiled them in this post. Enjoy! 🙂
10 Beautiful Doors Around the World

1. Chefchaouen, Morocco (May 2017)
2. Prague, Czech Republic (January 2018)
Technically a gate, but still very impressive!
3. Osaka, Japan (June 2016)
4. Madrid, Spain (June 2019)
5. Rome, Italy (December 2017)
6. Pérouges, France (October 2017)
7. Victoria, Gozo, Malta (November 2018)
8. Los Angeles, California (January 2020)
9. Brașov, Romania (February 2019)
10. Amiens, France (January 2018)
…don’t you find some of these just a-DOOR-able? 😉 Have a won-DOOR-ful day, everyone!

Thank you for sharing these beautiful doors! The blue on the exterior of the Morocco door is so beautiful, and the details around the church door from Amiens France are magnificent.

Indeed, it’s the details which make these doors a sight to see. Not only in how intricate the designs are, but also how intimate it must’ve been to hand-carve or paint them back then!

The doors are wonderful. Don’t you wish you could see the interiors behind some of them.

True, some doors aren’t unlocked, which can be disappointing. But to get a glimpse on the outside does the trick!

These are such fantastic door photos, Rebecca! Doors and windows are of particular interest to me because they can reflect the architectural fashions of a past time, furnish an insight into the heritage of a region, provide a compositional framework for a better picture, or just produce a literal window into other people’s lives. Therefore, I always end up taking lots of door and window photos whenever I travel the world. Some of the most beautiful ones I’ve seen so far have been in Morocco and France 🙂 Thanks for sharing and have a good day 🙂 Aiva xx

Okay, this is kind of epic actually. What an idea! I want to do something like this too – I see lots of outhouses on my hikes, and I already have a few photos….maybe that’s what I’ll do XD

A fine collection Rebecca from a wide array of global locations. I’ve often thought of doing a door compilation myself, but I never get round to it. My favourite of yours is probably the one in Malta.

I am loving all these doors. In my second novel (still not out) I talk about doors. I fell madly in love with them in Florence and then Morocco.

Florence and Morocco certainly have beautiful doors, no doubt about that! From the Renaissance to Moorish architecture, such doors can really capture your attention. 🙂

number 7 for the win! Can’t go past blue! I think we need to start installing church doors in our apartments, because there’s a look and a half with a design above the door!

Loved these! I’ve actually seen these or ones just like them in Chefchaouen, Prague and Japanese temples, so I was especially glad to see those pix. The one in France could be in so many rural towns.
