A while back, Anita from 100 Trek posted this article in which she did a photo challenge inspired by the Lens-Artists Challenge on this blog, and I was interested in sharing my photos of what I’ve encountered during my travels around the world. There’s something about water which is mesmerizing and ever-changing, from a small pool to a vast ocean…it’s something with which we need to survive, and its beauty also seems to draw us in…
Here are some of my favorite water photos I’ve taken while on the road, and I’d love to hear about your favorite water discoveries from your travels! 🙂

Gorgeous pictures! We live near Lake Tahoe and that is definitely one of the most beautiful water features I’ve ever seen. Lake Lucerne in Switzerland was a close second 🙂

I LOVED Lake Lucerne when I visited in 2016; Lucerne was my favorite city I visited in Switzerland! Haven’t been to Lake Tahoe, despite living in California, but I’ve heard it’s gorgeous. Will have to go someday!

Lucerne was definitely one of my favorite cities, as well. Loved the cobblestone streets and the warmth of the people there. Lake Tahoe is a must see, especially if you are into hiking, there are some great hikes to take and get some fabulous photos. Hope you get there someday 🙂

Beautiful pictures and great theme! I think there is always something very romantic and dreamy about water in general, be it in the sea, in a lake, a small river running in a forest or even a bigger one in a city! I never used to be a “sea” person but I have to say that now I like it more and more!

Water evokes that dreamy and mysterious vibe, as we don’t know what goes on under the sea, pond, lake, etc…unless we dive in and SEA for ourselves (pun intended)! 😆

gotta love water! Great pics! I wish i had taken my camera into the blue lagoon!

Photographing in the Blue Lagoon was risky business, just because I didn’t have waterproof equipment, so I had to be extra careful while wading around and taking photos. One small mishap, and it’s game over!

Some really great and varied shots here Rebecca. I had forgotten all about Széchenyi Thermal Baths, which I visited many moons ago as a young twenty something. Sadly I don’t have any surviving photos so thanks for the reminder!

Yes, the thermal baths in Budapest are ideal for the young twenty-somethings (or those young at heart). Glad the photo brought back memories!

What an incredible variety of photos, Rebecca! It’s amazing the water-based scenes we find around the world. Off the top of my head, I’d have to say one of my favorite water scenes is Crater Lake.

I’ve heard great things about Crater Lake! I had the possibility of visiting it while in Oregon, but due to the road trip itinerary, it wouldn’t have been convenient to detour over. One of these days, I’ll have to make it over!

I love them all! There’s something that makes me feel calm and at the same time awestruck when I see bodies of water.

All such gorgeous places! I’d have to add Mediterranean France to the list as well as the Coast of Maine.

You’re right! Completely missed the sunny Mediterranean in France. Never been to Maine, so I’ll need to go! 🙂

Ten beautiful choices. I’ve only been to two, but I must say that Lake Como is by far one of the most visually stunning places I’ve ever been. We were just talking about Széchenyi on the pod today – I LOVE that place!!!!

Lake Como is a part of Italy that you can get lost in, hopping from villa to villa, along the beautiful blue…I’ve only had a brief day there, so it’d be great to return and take time visiting more of the villas in the area!
